Electro tasty rock, that of the roman Helalyn Flowers, that shows since at once how Noemi & Max have to heart the concept of their own band. The duo, assisted by a session bass player, withdrew in the Temple Of Noise studios to record this Ep That shows their different influences. Electro-Rock, as said, remainding in many parts to Evanescence, for the simple constructions dominated by the Noemi's voice , decidedly expressive and very well dosed (“Alive” on all). 
Much beautiful and dark is also “Disorder”,the track that I prefer above all,where the sinergy of synths and voice makes the Helalyn Flowers worthy of repeated listenings. Sure, it is limiting to stop ourself to there mainstream similiarities, because the duo shows first of all its own attachement to the electro-rock and just a little underground like dark with a few indie, for the melodic line of the closer track “Amnesia”, to enrich it of commercial appealed pop shades : it is, I guess this is the Helalyn Flowers' actual identity , a duo very able in the songwriting and arrangement phases, and that understand very well what a real band had meant to be in its most various aspects. Musically, for what I consider the targets of the band, it would have to try to manifacture more and more pitiless and imediate hits, and therefore sometimes it would even have to work exhastely on arrangements and finesses, even shortening a bit the songs, drying them as most as possible. 
Anyway the electro-pop rock of the duo is decidedly over the lines, above all for a Country where heart/love still reigns uncontested on the media. 
If bands like this begin to turn in heavy rotation, it would be a beautiful victory! I see potential, a lot of potential. 
So, c’m on, let's give'em a lesson!

Rock dal sapore elettronico, quello dei romani Healyn Flowers, che mostra fin da subito quanto Noemi e Max abbiamo a cuore il concept della propria band. Il duo, coadiuvato da un bassista session, si è ritirato nei Temple of Noise Studios per registrare questo mini che mostra le loro differenziate influenze. Rock elettronico, si diceva, e da molti frangenti non si può non farsi venire in mente gli Evanescence, per le costruzioni semplici sovrastate dalla voce di Noemi, decisamente espressiva e ben dosata (“Alive” su tutte). Molto bella e oscura anche “Disorder”, il pezzo che preferisco del lotto, dove la sinergia synth e voce rende gli Helalyn Flowers degni di ripetuti ascolti. Certo, è limitante fermarsi a queste similitudini mainstream, perché il duo mostra prima di tutto il proprio attaccamento al rock elettronico e appena appena dark di stampo più underground (con un po’ di indie, per la linea melodica dell’ ultima “Amnesia”), arricchendolo poi di sfumature pop dall’ appeal commerciale: ecco, questa mi sembra l’ identità attuale degli Helalyn Flowers, un duo che riesce a muoversi molto bene in fase compositiva e di arrangiamento e capisce piuttosto bene cosa significa concepire una “band” nei suoi aspetti più diversi. Musicalmente, per quelli che considero gli obiettivi del gruppo, bisognerebbe cercare di confezionare sempre di più dei minor hit spietati e immediati, e quindi talvolta magari bisognerebbe lavorare fino allo sfinimento su arrangiamenti e finezze, magari accorciando un po’ le songs e “asciugandole” il più possibile. In ogni caso, il pop rock elettronico del duo è decisamente sopra le righe, soprattutto per un Paese dove cuore/amore regna ancora incontrastato sui media. Se gruppi come questi iniziassero a girare in heavy rotation, sarebbe una bella vittoria. Vedo potenziale, tanto potenziale. Dai, su, che gliela facciamo vedere.
