Helalyn Flowers is one of the roman bands which lately
shocked me more, 'coz of the very high quality of their
Ep and for how everything is wonderfully cured: lyrics,
sounds and for sure also the techno-psychedelic artwork,
in line with the musical propose.
In "Disconnection", the band explores a lot of musical
genres, from the alternative rock contaminated by
electro-music of the great opener "Acid Love Code",
where immediately stand out the excellent vocal
qualities of the singer Noemi. Following we find
"Alienate Me", a track which starts in a very aggressive
way with a wonderful riff, to flow then into pulsating
and trip-hop beats, that refer for a few to A Perfect
Circle's "13th Steps", creating in this way a song very
hard to forget. "Alive" puts us into much more
psychedelic,contorted and electronic atmospheres. Follow
"Disorder" and "Amnesia", that don't add other elements
to the already amazing sound of the band that succeeds,
well mixin' different musical styles, to be very
original and various.
Concluding an astonishing Cd of a band that couldn't
surprise at all if I'd listen it on a radio heavy
rotation, thanks to the impressioning groove and
freshness of the whole 5 tracks!

Helalyn Flowers sono un dei gruppi romani che più mi ha
colpito ultimamente, visto la qualità elevata del disco
e per come tutto sia curato meravigliosamente: liriche,
suoni e lo stesso vale per l’artwork tecno-psichedelico
in linea con al proposta musicale.
In questo disco il gruppo esplora numerosi generi
musicali si parte con un alternative rock contaminato da
musica elettronica dell’ottima opener “Acid Love Code”,
dove da subito risaltano le ottime doti canore della
singer Noemi. Segue “Alienate Me” traccia che parte
molto aggressiva con un ottimo riff per poi sfociare in
ritmi pulsanti e trip hop che ricordano un pochino gli A
Perfect Circe di “13th Steps”, il tutto a formare una
canzone che difficilmente riuscirete a togliervi dalla
testa. “Alive” ci porta ad atmosfere più contorte e
psichedeliche ed elettroniche. Seguono “Disorder” e
“Amnesia” che non aggiungono altri elementi al già
fantastico suono della band che riesce, attingendo a più
stili musicali, ad essere molto personale e vario.
Concludendo un fantastico disco di un gruppo che non mi
sorprenderei se passasse in heavy rotation in radio
visto il tiro pazzesco e la freschezza di tutti i pezzi
contenuti in questo “Disconnection”. Complimenti, a
