Man, I really need to go back to
Italy and indulge myself in their underground, dark
industrial scene, better yet, they should all come over
here and infect our dead scene! HELALYN FLOWERS kick off
the album with a killer, dark industrial-electro track
called "Acid Love Code." This album is riddled with
heavy ass-kicking guitars, crunchy electronics, provided
by Max, a surreal female voice, with a hint of an
Italian accent - provided by front-woman Noemi; who also
does the amazing graphic work on the album
cover/sleeves. There is also a nice collection of
"synth-y" sounds. If you're looking for some sort of a
comparison, I would have to say it has the darkness of
Depeche Mode, a vibe like Jakalope, the heaviness of
Ministry, and a handful of Euro-Pop sprinkled on top.
All together, this is a great album from this
up-and-coming Italian duo; I can't wait to hear their
follow-up release! If it's anything like this album,
it's going to be good! |
